The characteristic rough texture was made at the request of the father-in-law of Yunotsu Onsen Motoyu Senyakuyu, the current proprietress. It is a very rare matcha bowl that uses Indian ash as a glaze and has a large bubbly foam.
In the past Yunotsu Onsen Motoyu's Yunohana is used as a glaze. It seems that he once made a “Yunohana Tea Bowl”.
Crush the hot water flag that has accumulated near the faucet and dissolve it in the water.
Yunohana, which contains clay, salt, and iron, is said to turn dark brown and mysterious black when heated to 1,300°C.

About the box
In principle, we include a paulownia box in the selling price of our pottery.
In some cases, the box is left with the calligraphy by the late Baisei Yamamoto, and in other cases, the box is newly made. Please understand that it may take some time for us to make a new box. -
About Shokeizan-yaki
くわしくはこちらShokeizan Kiln is said to have been founded as far back as the Bunsei Era. In Shimane Prefecture, the kiln had a 14-stage climbing kiln at the end of a mountain road in the Kohama district of Yunotsu Town, and was one of the oldest Iwami ware kilns.
