The vivid cinnabar was achieved by firing the kiln more than 10 times, but because the artist fired the cinnabar so much, the colors of the sansai were lost.
His wife says that at the end of the firing, he said, "If I don't get good color, I'll throw it away," and put it in the kiln, and it came out with great color.
This is the work of the late Umeo Yamamoto, who was in his thirties, and who worked until he was led to an imaginary meeting.
At that time, there was a customer who was looking forward to encountering Yamamoto's cinnabar, and when he showed this piece to someone else, he was told that he would not buy it because he would suffer.
The texture of the potter's wheel is good, and the fine Kannyu (penetration) shows various expressions by catching the light. When hot water is poured, the rainbow-colored splashes of the glaze sparkle from the bottom of the bowl.

About the box
In principle, we include a paulownia box in the selling price of our pottery.
In some cases, the box is left with the calligraphy by the late Baisei Yamamoto, and in other cases, the box is newly made. Please understand that it may take some time for us to make a new box. -
About Shokeizan-yaki
くわしくはこちらShokeizan Kiln is said to have been founded as far back as the Bunsei Era. In Shimane Prefecture, the kiln had a 14-stage climbing kiln at the end of a mountain road in the Kohama district of Yunotsu Town, and was one of the oldest Iwami ware kilns.
